An enormous whale is in the spotlight after transferring Bitcoins worth almost half a billion to Coinbase in a singular transaction. Whale Alert, which is an automated tool used for surveilling blockchain, detected this huge Bitcoin transfer.
$26 Fee for Transferring $400 million?
The whale who was involved in this transaction transferred a sum of 8,000 Bitcoins which have a value of around $399.99 million, and the whale used a wallet that originated from an unknown source and transferred it to Coinbase, which is a US-based cryptocurrency exchange. The most astonishing fact is that this whole transaction was carried out just for a fee of $26, as stated by blockchain.com.
Before the transfer of these Bitcoins, the whale who performed these transactions had a wallet that was considered to be at the ranking of 215 in terms of the richest bitcoin wallet owners in the world.
These bitcoins were divided among two wallets on Coinbase. The first wallet did not even receive a whole Bitcoin, and only one transaction was made on that wallet. The second wallet in question received a whopping 8,000 Bitcoins after a sum of six transactions.
There have been a lot of other huge Bitcoin transfers in the last 24 hours as the price of Bitcoin dropped down to around $44k due to the market correction. Overall, the whales collectively transferred an amount of about 42,447 additional Bitcoin during this time period.
A total of 9 transactions involving Bitcoins worth billions of dollars were seen being transferred between wallets, whose origins are unknown. Two whales also shifted Bitcoins from Coinbase to some unknown wallets.
