Meta To Sell Digital Clothing For The Metaverse

According to reports, Meta has unveiled the launch of its virtual clothing store. The store would be dubbed the “Meta Avatars Store.” It would enable users to buy clothing of various brands for their avatars.
The company said the store would roll out to different platforms this week. Also, it will feature designs from various popular clothing brands.
Among these brands are Prada, Thom Browne, and Balenciaga. Additionally, it will be available for avatar figures on Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. However, the company has not released the price of the different clothes.
Meta’s Bet On The Metaverse
Since the rebranding of Facebook to Meta, the company has invested greatly into the metaverse. The firm believes the digital world will grow into a billion-dollar industry.
Also, the need for digital items and products will skyrocket as individuals embrace the sector. According to the CEO and founder of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg:
“Digital products would become an important medium for people to express themselves in the metaverse. Also, it would be the major sector of the industry. We are excited to include more brands and then take this to Horizon Worlds.”
The Horizon Worlds is Meta’s flagship app for the metaverse. Only owners of Meta’s Quest can enjoy the app. Meta’s Quest is a series of VR headsets.
According to Meta, the company plans to provide these digital wear in its Horizon Worlds. Unfortunately, experts believe it would be difficult for Meta to bring users into the metaverse.
Also, the company’s CEO has acknowledged that achieving its metaverse goal would be different. However, the company is willing to take the risk because of the potential benefits.
In May, Zuckerberg noted that the metaverse transition would cost Meta lots of money. However, the company would continue to invest in the nascent sector.
